About me

What I do

My name is Takang ,I am a certified Scrum Master with 7 years of facilitating experience. I design and lead meetings for teams and groups. I help guide and manage participants through an extraordinary journey of learning and application.

I started my career in Human Resources in Doha ,Qatar where I worked for 3 years before moving back to Calgary, Canada. I worked for for a retailer -Walmart and in oil and gas at Shell Canada where I was more dedicated in serving employees in the Human Resource capacity. I was more dedicated towards operations but then I moved more into service leadership. Although I liked the service leadership part of my job, my real passion was working with agile teams and being the one helping them coordinate their work. I moved to the united States shortly before the pandemic and was hired by Macy’s Omni Channel to lead the team in serving the customers and clients. Working with Agile teams at Macy’s in which I participated in Sprint Review meetings for new software application introduced for our teams is why I developed great interest in scrum and got certified. I currently work for PIDAC out of Austin Texas.

I get to work with different cross-functional teams , which is fun. Before preparing meetings  I have to think about the product, the purpose, participants , probable issues and processes. I enjoy working on complex projects  to produce simple outcomes.

With Agile teams , you build a product in short iterations and the Product Owner and stakeholders will be able to review the latest progress on the product. There is a lot of communication going on during the process and next iterations are only planned after the product has been reviewed by the product owner. This ensures that the software that is to be built added value to the customer’s expectation.

In this blog, I will be discussing things like the role of a facilitator, leadership, commonly used tools, continuous improvement, branding yourself and hobbies.
